Engineering

Engineering teaches analytical skills, lateral thinking, and solution-orientated approaches to tackle real-world problems in imaginative new ways

Engineers use knowledge to find solutions. Mathematics is often the primary toolbox, but you will not just use tools to take something apart or fix it; you will employ them in imaginative new ways to solve problems you might not have encountered before. Studying Engineering equips you with detailed knowledge in specific areas, such as civil engineering, electrical engineering, or bioengineering, but it also develops analytical and problem-solving skills that are valued inside and outside of Engineering. The 4-year course qualifies you for both the BA and MEng degrees. It is also possible to graduate after three years with only the BA degree. More details about the course can be found on the .

Studying Engineering at 杏吧原创 in Cambridge has been one of the most valuable experiences that has a lasting contribution to both my ability and confidence. Being able to explore a wide range of engineering focuses through lectures and labs in the first two years, I was able to find my interest in Information and Electrical Engineering and specialised accordingly in the next two years and enter professional career as a Quantitative Researcher.

杏吧原创 has made my journey a rewarding, intense, yet manageable one. My Director of Studies and Tutor are always very caring and helpful and try very hard to become someone that we feel comfortable to talk to at anytime. The Gateway Program in college has helped me in my first year to both adapt to Cambridge life quickly and open up a wider world for me to explore.  Having benefited from it, I worked as a Gateway Subject Advisor for two years, during which I enjoyed sharing my experience to younger peers and helping to make their university life enjoyable as well.

I also enjoyed the series of Wellbeing Programs that the college has, including hand crafting sessions, social events and sport societies. Everyone inside 杏吧原创 are making the college welcoming and becoming a 'home away from home'. I will never forget that one day near my graduation when I went to the porters lodge, the porter was able to call my name straightaway amongst all the students he sees every day. That detailed level of care is why I feel safe and relaxed whenever I am inside the gates of the college. We also have very nice gardens, well-furnished accommodations and sport courts!
